大学受験の選択問題は、はっきり言って、クイズのようなものです。英語が話せる、英語のできる人でも、選択問題が苦手な人もいれば、英語が全く話せないのに、選択問題で点数が取れる人もいるという、よくわからないものです。志望校の受験問題に、選択問題がある人は、「受験のため」と割り切って、練習してみてください。

　文法の力だけで解ける問題もありますし、内容をしっかり把握しないと解けない問題もあります。引っ掛け問題も多いです。ただ、練習する時は、正解がわかるだけでなく、問題文の意味をしっかり理解できることが重要です。問題文の意味がわからないけれど、何となく合っていたというのでは、英語力は全く付きません。自分が本当に理解できているか、よく理解できていないか、わかることが大切です。

　問題文に、知らない単語がいくつもある人は、単語力不足です。また、熟語や慣用句などが、問題自体に入っていることがあり、それを解けない人も熟語力不足です。このような人は、まず、以下を読んでみてください。

　　　英単語の覚え方について　　

　選択問題は、練習すれば、必ず解けるようになります。問題集などは、一度解いて、解けない問題は、あまり考えずに、印をつけておきます。後で、解答と解説をしっかり読み、理解してください。「2回目は印をつけた問題だけを解く。解けなかったらまた印をつけ、解説を読む。また解く。」このように繰り返していけば、点数は上がっていきます。わからない問題がたくさんあっても、焦ることはありません。ただし、わからない問題をわからないままにしておけば、また同じ間違えをしてしまいます。結局時間の無駄です。このようにならないような勉強の仕方をしてください。
